MEDICAL SCIENCE LIAISON FOR ARGENX

Inizio Engage Nordic is partnering with argenx to recruit a Medical Science Liaison to support and further develop argenx’s midsize markets across the Nordic region.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Medical Science Liaison is a field-based expert on argenx’s scientific data, products and trials, responsible for engagement with medical stakeholders at centres across the region but also with patient groups, policy makers and regional payors. The Medical Science Liaison will represent and reflect argenx’s values as a science-driven, patient-centric organization. The role is critical in understanding the management of diseases of interest, mapping the patient journey, identifying unmet medical needs, data gaps and areas of collaboration. They will work closely with the regional team, the international Medical Affairs team and cross-functionally with all relevant international colleagues. While the focus will be on the Nordic region, the function will also support activities and projects across the international region.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Expert medical resource and argenx ambassador.
  • Maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise of all relevant diseases and products; acknowledged internally and externally as an expert.
  • Identify and develop productive relationships and collaborations with all relevant stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, professional organizations in Nordics.
  • Support the development and lead the implementation of Medical Affairs plans to advance argenx objectives.
  • Support market access activities and any healthcare policy efforts across the country.
  • Help shape the positioning of argenx in the Nordic countries.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and appropriately implement current local pharmaceutical regulation and ensure implementation of argenx policies and procedures.
  • Location of the role is flexible within the Nordics. You may be based in any Nordic country, if you can travel efficiently across the region.

Scientific/medical exchange, education and insight generation

  • Ensure timely and informative scientific/medical exchanges with external stakeholders that accurately reflect scientific data.
  • Deliver high quality scientific/medical education in a variety of settings, including related to diseases of interest, clinical studies, investigational products and any future licensed products.
  • Obtain feedback that can be disseminated throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate the timely and appropriate response to internal and external Medical Information enquires, utilizing argenx medical information resources and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend appropriate local, national and international meetings and congresses to gather intelligence, develop productive collaborations, engage in scientific exchange and ensure insights are shared within argenx.
  • Set the strategy and lead the execution of Medical Meetings and KOL Engagements.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Ensure a close working relationship with all argenx functions.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure operations are patient-focused, including rapidly responding to internal and external requests to discuss specific situations and challenges and provide medical affairs support to all stakeholders.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced scientific, healthcare or medical degree (MSc, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Significant field-based experience in a biopharmaceutical industry in medical affairs.
  • Besides English, command of one or more Nordic language is a significant plus.
  • Clinical experience and KOL networks in neurology, immunology and/or rare diseases are a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of Nordic regulations and practices related to industry interactions with healthcare professionals.

OTHER

  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% across the Nordic region, with additional international travel for meetings and congresses
  • Initial fixed-term contract, with the intention to continue the role for the right individual.
